And In Re : Hellal Khan ..... petitioner Mr. Arnab Chatterjee Ms. Chandrima Debnath ... for the petitioner Mr. Neguive Ahamed, learned APP Ms. Trina Mitra .... for the State Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits he is in custody for three years and six months. He prays for bail on the ground of delay.

Learned Counsel for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits three witnesses have already been examined. Date has been fixed for recording further evidence in March, 2023. We have considered the materials on record. There are materials implicating the petitioner in the offence. Trial has progressed and date has been fixed for recording further evidence in March, 2023. Accordingly, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

The application for bail is, thus, rejected. Trial court is directed to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible preferably within six months from the
