The petitioner is in custody for about eight months and prays for bail.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was in a live in relationship with the deceased and stands on the same footing as co-accused Swathi Mondal who has been granted bail.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. It appears that the petitioner and the deceased ordinarily resided together. Independent witnesses have implicated the petitioner in the alleged offence. The petitioner does not appear to be similarly circumstanced with the co-accused who is on bail. Considering the material on record as well as prima facie involvement of the petitioner in the alleged offence, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

The application for bail is disposed of.
