The petitioner is an Assistant Teacher at Dumurdaha Dhrubananda High School, DistrictHooghly and the elected Panchayat Pradhan of Jirat Gram Panchayat under Balagarh Development Block, District- Hooghly.

The petitioner is unable to attend the school as he is discharging the function of the said Pradhan as such, he requested the School Authority to treat his absence as leave with pay, particularly when he is not accepting any remuneration or financial benefit as the said Pradhan.

The Managing Committee by its impugned resolution dated November 07, 2023 has rejected the said prayer of the petitioner holding that the petitioner has already exhausted all of his admissible leave.

This Court does not find any illegality and/or infirmity in the said decision of the Managing Committee warranting interference.

W.P.A. 2144 of 2024 is thus dismissed without any order as to costs.
