05/NCB/Kol/2018 under Sections 20(b)(ii)(c) of the N. D. P. S Act renumbered as N-13 of 2018 pending before the learned Judge, Special Court under NDPS Act, Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas. The enclosed certified copy reflects that the petitioner surrendered on 23.04.2018 and was in custody till the application was filed before this court.

Having regard to the fact that the present case was initiated by the NCB authorities in the year 2018 and almost five years have passed, I direct that the learned special court would formulate a schedule of dates. The schedule shall ordinarily consist of three days and the learned trial court should fix at least one date in a month so

that the trial can be taken to its logical conclusion. No unnecessary adjournments should be granted to either of the parties. If the officials who are witnesses in this case are absent on the dates so fixed by the court, in that case the learned trial court should issue notice for explanation to the superior Authority to satisfy such absence. No witness should be excused from appearing in court on the dates so fixed on vague and flimsy grounds. All efforts must be taken by the stake holders for completing the trial as expeditiously as possible preferably by 30th June, 2024.

With the aforesaid observations, the present revisional application being CRR 216 of 2021 is disposed of. . Pending applications, if any, are consequently disposed of.
