The petitioner alleges that although an application under the Right to Information Act was filed before the Executive Officer, Domkal Panchayat Samiti, such information was not supplied.

It appears that the Joint Block Development Officer, Domkal, Murshidabad by a letter dated February 7, 2020 asked the Executive Assistant, Garaimari Gram Panchayat to provide necessary information.

The learned advocate for the State respondents submits certain documents. It appears that the petitioner was asked to attend the office of the Garaimari Gram Panchayat on several occasions, over telephone, so that he could collect the information as per his query. The petitioner did not collect the said information. Even after receipt of the copy of the writ petition, the petitioner was asked to collect the information on February 11, 2022, but the petitioner did not visit the office.

Under such circumstances, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the petitioner to approach

the Pradhan, Garaimari Gram Panchayat to obtain the information. If the petitioner approaches the authority, the information shall be supplied to the petitioner in accordance with law. The panchayat authorities shall comply with the direction of the SPIO and supply the necessary information. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
