On a perusal of the report of the District Social Welfare Officer, North 24-Parganas dated 4th August, 2025, it appears that the sister of the petitioner Paromita Chatterjee has been declared to be permanently disabled. The disability certificate has been issued by the Barasat Government Medical College and Hospital on 26th July, 2025.

The petitioner is the only caregiver of her sister who is entitled to receive some amount of money on account of family pension on the death of her father Utpal Kumar Chatterjee who was an employee of the State. The mother of the petitioner has also expired. 3.

As Paromita Chatterjee, the sister of the petitioner will not be in a position to handle the accounts of the family pension and will also not be in a position to operate the pension account due to her disablement, accordingly, the petitioner shall be

permitted to maintain and operate the pension account of her sister Paromita Chatterjee.

The respondent authority of the State, the Banking authorities and the pension disbursal authority are directed to permit the petitioner Arpita Chatterjee to operate the pension account of her sister Paromita Chatterjee.

The petitioner is directed to comply with all the necessary formalities for opening the pension account in the name of Paromita Chatterjee and operate the same in accordance with law.

The writ petitions stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
