The petitioner is undergoing sentence for offence committed under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. He is presently lodged in Durgapur Jail. Counsel for the State has produced the Minutes of the Proceedings held by the 64th State Sentence Board. The Board is comprised of the highest officials of the State and the Police. For security reasons, confidence is claimed on the said Minutes, which is permitted. This court has perused the reasons for the refusal of the petitioner's prayer for remission.

This court does not find any infirmity in the order. In that view of the matter, the writ petition shall fail and is hereby dismissed.

The Minutes produced before this court are returned to the State counsel.
