The petitioner seeks a new electricity connection for the portion of the premises under his occupation. It is not in dispute that a common electricity meter has already been installed at the premises by CESC Ltd.

CESC Ltd.

submits that a separate electricity connection may be provided to the petitioner from the existing meter board by installing a loop meter. The petitioner, however, expresses apprehension regarding potential obstruction from respondent nos.5 and 6 in accessing the meter.

Learned counsel appearing for respondent nos. 5 and 6

submits that the existing meter board is situated in a common passage, and they undertake before this Court that they shall not create any obstruction in the petitioner's or CESC Ltd. officials' access to the said meter board. In view of the aforesaid submission and undertaking, no further issue survives for adjudication in the present writ petition.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon CESC Ltd. to install a separate loop meter for the petitioner at the existing meter board, subject to his compliance with all necessary formalities.

WPA 2423 of 2025 stands disposed of.
