Dismissed submits that the petitioners are parents of the principal accused and were arrested on 20th February, 2025 and since then they are in custody. Charge-sheet has already been submitted but till date charges have not been framed. Prosecution has relied upon 23 witnesses in the charge-sheet, as such, there is no possibility of the trial concluding in near future, the petitioners may be released on bail.

Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and produces the case diary. Attention of the Court has been drawn to the relevant statements as also the post-mortem report. I have taken into account the materials appearing in the

case diary, the manner in which the deceased was assaulted with a sharp cutting weapon which is reflected in the post mortem report. Mr. Banerjee, learned senior advocate submits that there no materials to substantiate that the parents were at all involved. Prima facie, I find materials that the parents were present at the spot. In view of the aforesaid, at this stage, I am not inclined to release the petitioners on bail. Petitioners would at a subsequent stage of proceedings approach this Court. Accordingly, CRM(M)328 of 2026 is dismissed at this stage.
