Court No. 24 25.03.2022 (Item No. 8) (AB) He filed the writ application with the allegation that the respondent authority did not release the accumulated General Provident Fund and the Group Insurance amount which was due and payable to him. The petitioner retired from service on 31st January, 2019.

Report has been filed on behalf of the Kolkata District Primary School Council wherein it has been mentioned that the Council disbursed the entire amount of Rs.56,960/- on account of Provident Fund to the petitioner's bank account on 12th March, 2020. The documents showing payment of the Provident Fund due has been annexed to the said report. As regards non-payment of the dues on account of Group Insurance, it has been submitted that the petitioner did not apply before the Council in the appropriate manner for receiving the Group Insurance due.

On perusal of the report it appears that the petitioner filed a writ petition with an absolute incorrect statement that the Provident Fund due was not paid to him. Such a stand of the petitioner is not appreciated by the Court.

As regards non-payment of the Group Insurance dues, the petitioner will be at liberty to make appropriate application before the Council for releasing the same. The writ petition stands disposed of.
