Punjab National Bank and another Mr. Shibaji Kumar Das ...for the petitioner Mr. Abhishek Banerjee ... for the Bank Counsel for the petitioner submits that he has a bank account with the Punjab National Bank jointly along with his wife Rinku Devi Yadav. The account was opened in August, 2010. It is submitted that the Bank has not permitted the petitioner to operate the account since 2017.

Counsel for the Bank submits that the petitioner has not updated the "Know Your Customer" (KYC) particulars since 2017 and hence in terms of the guidelines of the RBI, they could not have allowed operation of the account.

This Court directs the petitioner to update the KYC records with the Bank along with that of his wife within a period of seven days from 21st June, 2021. The account shall be allowed to be operated immediately upon compliance

with all the required formalities and KYC norms of the Bank.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order.
