The petitioner is aggrieved by a number of cases registered by the Jibantala Police Station against him. It is submitted that the only reason for the petitioner's arrest is that he belongs to a rival political party.

The report of the Jibantala Police Station dated 22.03.2023 is kept with the record. It appears that the following cases are pending against the petitioner being:- a) FIR No. 60 of 2022 dated 12.02.2022.

b) FIR No. 141 of 2021 dated 16.04. 2021 which resulted in Charge-sheet No. 232 of 2022 dated 31.07.2022.

c) FIR No. 177 of 2021 dated 25.05.2021 which resulted in charge-sheet No. 240 of 2021 dated 29.09.2021.

d) FIR No. 186 of 2021 dated 04.06.2021 which also resulted in charge-sheet No. 372 of 2021 dated 27.12.2021.

e) There is also another FIR being 187 of 2021 dated 05.06.2021, where the petitioner and two other persons were named.

On the petitioner's complaint however the Jibantala Police Station had registered FIR No. 80 of 2022 dated 11th March, 2022 under Section 448/427/379/506/34 IPC.

The petitioner is unable to return his house. The petitioner submits that he is on bail in most of the cases filed against him.

If the petitioner is an accused and any further FIR where the warrant is pending or such FIR is not mentioned in the Police Report, the same shall be informed to him by tomorrow at 2 p.m. by the Jibantala Police Station.

The petitioner and his family members shall be escorted back to their residence. For the aforesaid purpose, the petitioner shall report to Jibantala Police Station on Wednesday 14th June 2023 at 2 p.m.

In the event there is any warrant outstanding against the petitioner or any further FIR is pending or contemplated, no coercive action shall be taken against the petitioner for a period of 21 days after notifying the petitioner of such FIR or proposed coercive action.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
