1. The petitioner by way of this public interest litigation would contend that the licence granted for running a foreign liquor shop and bar-cum-restaurant is in violation of the statutory rules and it is situated within the prohibited limited. A mass petition in this regard has also been submitted.

2. Learned advocate appearing for the respondent/State would submit that very recently the representation has received and action has been initiated.

3. In the light of the above, this writ petition stands disposed of by directing the Director of Excise, 2nd respondent herein, to consider the representation and direct one of his officer to conduct an inspection of the area and give an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as all other persons in the locality. Since the representation dated 24.1.2024 has been signed by several persons and the same appears to be a mass petition, the grievance of the people of the

locality also have to be considered and appropriate decision be taken in this regard and communicate to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the server copy of this order.

4. With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
