Mr. Kaushik Chowdhury Mr. Ishan Bhattacharya .....for the petitioner Writ petitioner is one of the desirous candidates to be appointed in the post of Assistant Teacher in Secondary Section (Class IX and X) and applied under the notification of First State Level Selection Test, 2016.

The petitioner participated in the written test and was subsequently called for verification (First Phase). At the time of verification petitioner was not found eligible by the concerned authority of the West Bengal Central School Service Commission as a result whereof candidature of the petitioner was not appraised during the process of verification. Petitioner is aggrieved by such action on the part of the School Service Commission refusing to consider his candidature during the verification. Petitioner has prayed for permission to participate in the interview

for being selected for the post of Assistant Teacher in Secondary Section.

It appears that the interview for appointment in the post of Assistant Teacher in Secondary Section is already over and the selection process is already complete and panel has also been prepared.

Therefore, there is not scope to grant opportunity to the writ petitioner to offer his candidature in the personality test/interview.

Since the selection procedure is complete upon preparation of panel on the basis of personality test conducted by the West Bengal Central School Service Commission, the prayer for participation in the interview/personality test cannot be allowed at this juncture; therefore, no relief can be granted to the writ petitioner.

WPA 1246 of 2018 stands dismissed.

However, there shall be no order as to costs. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, is to be given to the parties upon compliance with the necessary formalities.
