The grievance of the petitioner is directed against non-supply of a fresh electricity connection. The premises is admittedly a shared accommodation and there are disputes between the husband and the wife.

This writ petition has been filed by the wife, who is living with her son and daughter-in-law and claims a separate electricity connection.

On behalf of WBSEDCL, it is submitted that they have no objection in providing such electricity connection subject to compliance of all formalities. In view of the above, WPA 2553 of 2026 stands disposed of by directing WBSEDCL to take all necessary steps in accordance with law in providing

the electricity connection to the petitioner, if so entitled.

Liberty is granted to WBSEDCL to take police assistance, if so required.

It is made clear that the payment for any kind of police assistance will be borne exclusively by the petitioner.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
