The West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited and others (Via Video Conference) Md. Kutubuddin .... for the petitioner Mr. Srijan Nayak, Mrs. Rituparna Maitra .... for the WBSEDCL Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the Distribution Licensee complied with the previous order of coordinate Bench of this court and gave new electric connection to the petitioner. However, the said connection has been given via a bamboo pole instead of a properly constructed electric pole.

Learned counsel for the Distribution Licensee submits that the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (for short "the WBSEDCL") is always willing to install a proper electric pole for the purpose of securing safety of the

people in the locality. However, due to severe resistance faced by the WBSEDCL personnel from the people in the neighbourhood, such installation could not be undertaken.

In such scenario, WPA No.2273 of 2022 is allowed, directing the WBSEDCL to install a proper electric pole and give an electric connection to the petitioner via a proper and safe mechanism. Such action will be undertaken and completed by the Distribution Licensee within two months from date. It is made clear that, if the WBSEDCL personnel face any inconvenience or obstruction from any quarter while undertaking such work, they will be free to approach the Ratua Police Station for adequate police assistance in that regard.

If so approached, the Inspector-inCharge/Officer-in-Charge of the Ratua Police Station shall immediately grant such assistance to the WBSEDCL personnel, at the cost of the petitioner. There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
