Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that petitioner is in custody since 13th of January, 2023 and till date only four witnesses have been examined by the prosecution. Last of the witness was examined on 12th of September, 2024. Learned advocate for the State submits that the prosecution has reduced the number of witnesses from 19 to 14 witnesses, as such 10 more witnesses are required to be examined. I find that the allegations against the present petitioner is murdering his own mother. Having considered the same, I am inclined to grant the prosecution some time. Accordingly, in the next six months prosecution would substantially progress with the evidence of the rest of the witnesses. At this stage, the prayer for bail is rejected.

Petitioner will renew his prayer for bail after the time period is over.

Thus, CRM (M) 346 of 2026 is dismissed.

ADG, CID, West Bengal will take steps so that there is substantial progress in the trial.

Learned advocate for the State will communicate this order to the ADG, CID, West Bengal.
