Let a copy of the application be served upon Ms. Sukanya Bhattacharya and Mr. Md. Kutubuddin, learned advocates, who are present in court today and who ordinarily appear on behalf of the State. Their engagement may be regularised in due course by the competent authority of the State.
Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is the accused in this case who was arrested on 28.05.2020 in connection with the present case and since then he is in custody. Although a charge-sheet was submitted, the chemical examination report was awaited. Even after passage of much time, the chemical report could not be obtained. In the interest of justice, direction ought to be
passed for an expeditious disposal of the proceeding. I have heard the submissions of the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the petitioner and the State and have perused the revision petition. It appears that a delay has been occasioned in the conclusion of proceeding, especially considering the fact that the petitioner is in custody May, 2020.
In view of the above and in the interest of justice, I request the learned trial Court to take necessary steps to ensure that the Investigating Agency obtains the chemical examination report at the earliest and thereafter, conclude the proceeding as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to any of the parties.
With these observations, the revisional application is disposed of.
