Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that, the petitioners are the parents-in-law of the victim. The First Information Report (FIR) was lodged by the victim after a delay of 16 days. The husband of the victim was granted bail by the Jurisdictional Court.

Learned advocate appearing for the State draws the attention of the Court to the statement recorded under Section 161 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (Cr.P.C.) and to the injury report of the victim.

The victim suffered at least 40 per cent burn injury on her lower limb. The victim names her husband as one of the perpetrator. She said that the others were watching the scenario without rendering her any assistance. Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioners therein, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

Accordingly, prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioners is rejected and the application being CRM (A) 694 of 2022 is dismissed.
