The petitioners have prayed for a direction upon the Revenue Authorities to correct the recording in the Record of Rights.

The learned advocate appearing for the State raises an objection as to the maintainability of this writ petition, in view of the alternative efficacious remedy available under the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal Act, 1997.

After going through the averments made in the writ petition and the documents annexed thereto, this Court finds that the petitioner has alleged inaction on the part of the authorities under the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955, which is a specified Act under Section 2(r) of the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal Act, 1997.

In view of the provisions laid down under Sections, 6, 7 and 8 of the 1997 Act, this Court is not inclined to entertain this writ petition.

Faced with such situation, the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner prays for leave to withdraw this writ petition with liberty to approach the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal on the selfsame cause of action.

In the light of the submissions made by the learned advocate for the petitioners, WPA 2534 of 2026 stands dismissed as withdrawn with the liberty sought for by the learned advocate for the petitioner.

There will be no order as to costs.
