Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that the funds under various welfare schemes have been misappropriated and that the development works such as excavation of canal, digging of pond, plantation of trees, etc. have not been done, but the funds have been siphoned.
When the matter is taken up today, a limited prayer has been made by learned counsel for the petitioners that three representations dated 31.01.2022 have been made to the respondent No.5, District Panchayat and Rural Development Officer, South 24 Parganas, therefore a direction be issued to the said respondent to decide those representations.
Learned counsel for the State has no objection to such a limited prayer. Hence, the present petition is disposed of directing the respondent No.5 to duly
WPA (P) 60 of 2022 consider the petitioners'
representations dated 31.01.2022 and take an appropriate action in accordance with law after giving an opportunity of hearing to all the concerned parties.
Let this exercise be completed by respondent No.5 within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
The petition is accordingly disposed of.
Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on usual undertaking.
