Mr. Bhagbat Chaudhuri Ms. Barnali Gupta Ms. Gopa Mainan ... for the petitioner Mr. Santanu Kumar Mitra ...for the State The petitioner alleges that respondents nos. 6 to 10 have undertaken the construction of a residential house under the Bangla Abash Yojana Scheme, encroaching upon the land belonging to the petitioner. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that, in this regard, a representation was made by a letter dated December 20, 2024, before the Panchayat Authority as well as the Block Development Officer. However, no action has been taken by the said authorities in response to such representation.

In my view, the issue of alleged encroachment constitutes a civil dispute, which cannot be adjudicated upon by either the Panchayat Authority or the Block Development Officer.

Accordingly, this writ petition is not entertained. The petitioner, however, is granted liberty to approach the competent civil authority for appropriate redressal of his grievance.

Consequently, WPA 2666 of 2025 stands disposed of.
