1. Heard the learned counsels appearing for the respective parties.

2. Affidavit of service filed in Court today, is kept with the record.

3. The petitioner has been granted a permanent stage carriage permit no. 119/2006 (WB) on the inter-state route Chaibasa-Purulia via Tata (A-61) pursuant to a vacancy notified under the Inter-State reciprocal Transport Agreement between the States of Jharkhand and West Bengal published on 29.03.2004.

4. It is submitted that the permit has already been renewed by the State Transport Authority, Jharkhand along with an approved time table for the

period from 01.12.2021 to 30.11.2026 which has been duly forwarded to the State Transport Authority, West Bengal for counter signature.

5. The petitioner made an application on 23.12.2025 for grant of counter signature of the permit of the interstate route along with the approved timetable in respect of the vehicle no. JH-05AW-4495, however, the same remains pending for consideration.

6. The State-respondents do not object to the consideration of the representation made by the petitioner.

7. After careful consideration of the case and upon perusing the materials available on record, I direct the State Transport Authority, West Bengal to consider the representation 23.12.2025 within a period of sixty days by passing a reasoned order in accordance with law upon affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and the other interested persons, if any, and communicate such decision within a week thereafter.

8. With the above observations, the writ petition, WPA 2729 of 2026 stands disposed of, without going into the merits of the case.
