The grievance of the petitioner is directed against failure of the CESC authorities to supply a new electric connection in favour of the petitioner. The private respondent is represented and submits that the father of the petitioner was a tenant under the private respondent and was enjoying electricity from the meter of the private respondent. The private respondent is the landlord.

The CESC is represented and submits that in respect of the electric connection in the name of the private respondent there are dues in excess of Rs.76,131/- which remain unpaid.

The private respondent submits that the petitioner is not making any payment of account of electricity and has been enjoying the same free of cost for more than a year.

Notwithstanding a specific query by this court, the petitioner is unable to satisfy this Court that any amount has been paid on account of electricity dues by the petitioner.

In view of the stand taken by the petitioner, I am not inclined to pass any order in favour of the petitioner.

WPA 2953 of 2021 stands dismissed.

It is made clear that until and unless the outstanding dues of the CESC authorities are paid, there is no question of providing any electricity connection to the petitioner.
