For the CESC The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the refusal of the respondent Authorities to provide the petitioner with a new electricity connection at the subject premises. The CESC is represented and submits that they have no objection in providing the petitioner with a fresh electricity connection. But they are unable to make any inspection since the private respondents are creating hindrances in making such inspection.
The private respondents are not represented.
In view of the fact that the petitioner seeks an essential service, I direct the CESC Authorities to provide the petitioner with fresh electricity connection within a period of four weeks from date after the petitioner has complied with all necessary statutory formalities. The respondent No. 5 is directed to provide police assistance to the representatives of the CESC
Authorities in accordance with law and the petitioner will bear all costs to carry out the aforesaid exercise. With the aforesaid directions, W.P.A. 1755 of 2020 is disposed of.
However, there will be no order as to costs.
