Petitioner(s) Mr. Biswajit Manna ... for the Petitioner(s) Mr. Bibswan Bhattacharya Mr. Atanu Ghosh ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is similarly situated as the other accused persons who have been granted bail in CRM (M) 2026/2025 and CRM (M) 2400 of 2025.

Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the other accused persons who have been granted bail on whom parity has been claimed were in custody for one and half years, while the present petitioner is absconding for a substantial period of time and is in custody for about seven months.

Having considered the fact that the petitioner was absconding for a substantial period of time, at this stage, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

However, the petitioner would renew his prayer for bail, if within a period of four months, rest of the witnesses is not completed by the learned trial court.

Accordingly, CRM (M) 353 of 2026 is dismissed. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
