Affidavit-of-service filed in court today be kept on record.

The petitioner contends that the petitioner applied for electricity connection and complied with formalities but no such connection as yet been given for operating the petitioner's submersible pump.

Learned counsel for the WBSEDCL submits that already an intimation has been given to the petitioner that due to potato cultivation in the area, the connection could not be given till date and shall positively be given by March 31, 2024.

There is sufficient justification in the contention of the WBSEDCL since the law prescribes an outer limit of 180 days in cases where cultivation is going on.

Accordingly, the WBSEDCL cannot be faulted for having asked time till March 31, 2024 for giving the connection.

Hence, WPA 2501 of 2024 is disposed of by directing the WBSEDCL to give the electricity connection to the petitioner positively by March 31, 2024.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
