The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the refusal of the respondent authorities to provide a new electric meter at the shop room of the petitioner. The CESC authority is represented and submits that they had visited the premises for installing an electricity connection, but they were prevented by the private respondents from conducting such installation. In view of the fact that the petitioner seeks an essential service, I am of the view that the appropriate police authorities being the respondent no.5 be directed to provide all necessary police assistance to the respondent Corporation for installing a fresh electric connection at the premises of the petitioner. It is needless to mention that the petitioner is directed to comply with all the prescribed statutory obligations including payment of all necessary costs incurred for such fresh connection.

With the aforesaid directions, WPA 3004 of 2021 stands disposed off.
