The petitioner is aggrieved that the proposed rally to be held today between 2.30 P.M. to 9 P.M., has been refused by the Joint Commissioner of Calcutta Police.

Mr. Prabal Bandyopadhya, the Inspector-inCharge of the Law Section of the Calcutta Police represents the Joint Commissioner.

It is submitted by Mr. Bandyopadhya that the petitioner has been permitted by the Deputy Commissioner to hold the rally today itself as proposed by them.

In view of the above, the petitioner may hold the rally as proposed in the application dated 27th January, 2023.

The police shall deploy adequate force to ensure law and order.

The petitioner undertakes to hold peaceful rally and not to disturb the traffic and the

movement of the citizens.

The petitioner also undertakes to clean up the area of the rally after its completion.

Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of.

However, there shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official wesbite of this Court.
