1. Petitioner is in custody for about two years. He contends there is delay trial. He prays for bail.

2. Learned lawyer for the State opposes the bail prayer. He submits date has been fixed for consideration of charge.

3. We have considered the materials on record. Statements of witnesses show petitioner had murdered his wife. His bail prayer was rejected earlier on merits. Offence if proved, would attract mandatory life imprisonment.

4. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

5. Accordingly, prayer for bail is rejected.

Trial court is requested to consider the issue of framing of charge on the date so fixed and if it is unable to do so positively within one month thereof and in the event charge is framed to take the proceeding to its logical conclusion without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties.
