Dan, Advocate Mr. Saryati Datta, Advocate ... ... For the de facto complainant Petitioner seeks bail.

Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 168 days. The police filed charge-sheet and charges were framed. The co-accused was granted bail by the jurisdictional Court.

Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the petitioner is the kingpin of a racket running honey trap. The de facto complainant was one of the victims thereto. He refers to the contents in the case dairy. He submits that the date of trials was fixed on February 15, 2022.

The de facto complainant is represented.

Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein as transpiring from the materials in the case diary and considering the fact that the trial commenced from February 17, 2022, we are unable to grant bail to the petitioner at this crucial stage.

However, we request the jurisdictional Court to dispose of the trial as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.

CRM (DB) 429 of 2022 is rejected.
