Chakraborty ... for the petitioners The writ petitioners claim that the Zilla Parishad and the Prodhan have been approached for holding the Dantan Gramin Mela in Mouza-Ektarpur Takinagar, Paschim Medinipur.

The petitioners submit that the yearly Mela was being held for 32 years and has also been visited by the former President of India.

The officer of the Dantan Police Station submits that they have not yet been approached for any permission from either the petitioner or anybody to hold such Mela.

Instructions of the Dantan Police Station addressed to state Advocate dated 03.02.2023 is taken on record.

In those circumstances, the petitioners may apply before the I. C., Dantan Police Station by tomorrow.

The I. C., Dantan Police Station shall take a suitable decision in the matter within a period of 48 hours thereof.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
