....Advocates The order dated August 25, 2025 speaks for itself. The report of the learned Registrar General dated September 26, 2025 placed before this Court shows that a sum of Rs.5 lakh has been deposited by the contemnor herein in terms of the order dated August 25, 2025 and the same has been invested by the learned Registrar General. The amount was deposited on August 27, 2025.
Today Mr. Saibal Acharyya, learned Counsel appearing for the alleged contemnor has filed an affidavitof-compliance, the same is taken on record. The money
receipt dated August 27, 2025 appended thereto shows that the sum of Rs.5 lakh has already been deposited with the Office of the learned Registrar General. Another principal sum of Rs.5 lakh had already been deposited by the respondent no.10 in the writ petition which is also lying with the learned Registrar General of this Court as would be evident from the letter of the learned Advocate for the respondent no.10 in the writ petition dated December 23, 2024, Annexure-D at page 97 to the contempt application.
Therefore, the principal sum of Rs.10 lakh lying in the custody of the learned Registrar General have been invested in the fixed deposit account.
It appears on perusal of the materials on record that, a total sum of Rs.10 lakh is now lying deposited under the custody of the learned Registrar General of this Court pursuant to the judgment of this Court dated February 6, 2024 affirmed by the Hon'ble Division Bench by its judgment dated November 14, 2024. In view of the above, the learned Registrar General now shall disburse the amount in favour of the petitioners following the direction made in paragraph 43 and the sub-paragraphs thereunder of the judgment of this Court dated February 6, 2024.
The entire exercise shall be carried out and completed by the learned Registrar General within four weeks from the date of communication of this order.
It is made clear that, the petitioners and/or the learned advocate on record for the petitioners shall cooperate with the learned Registrar General of this Court in every manner whenever they shall be requested to do so.
Nothing further survives in this contempt proceeding.
Accordingly, CPAN 218 of 2025 stands dropped and closed.
The application, CPAN 218 of 2025 stands disposed of.
