G.S.Das Mr. Sourodeep Singha ... for the Petitioner(s) Mr. Swapan Banerjee Mr. Diptendu Narayan Banerjee ... for the State - respondent(s) The petitioner complains that he has been running a Law College and as he did not respond to the demands of the local administration including the police authorities, he has been foisted with several criminal cases within a span of one year.

The petitioner submits that the police authorities have been demanding protection money from him and as he refused to meet the same, he had to face the consequences of such police atrocities which resulted in registration of several FIRs.

Additionally, it has also been submitted that some of the complainants are not known to the petitioner and they proceeded to initiate FIR(s) which have been engineered by the police authorities concerned.

State has submitted a report with a list of cases (more than seven cases).

Another case, according to the report, has its genesis at Nagri Police Station, Ranchi, Jharkhand. The petitioner, presently, has been arrested in connection with the said case on the strength of warrant of arrest issued by the learned Special Court.

In view of the series of cases pending against the petitioner, I am of the view that each of the cases are to be dealt with on its own merit(s), as such, on a flat reading of the writ petition, it would not be possible for coming to a conclusion that the police authorities are vindictive as such they have initiated

cases against the petitioner.

The petitioner on proper proof of materials, if so advised, can avail the relevant provisions of BNS for initiating action against any public servant. For the present, no interference is called for.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 2827 of 2025 is dismissed.

Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of.
