The allegations are serious. We have seen the statements of the victim girl and her mother recorded under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The petitioner apparently is employed in the Indian Army.

In view of the nature of the allegations prima facie indicating commission of offence under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and keeping in mind that if the petitioner is convicted, he has to serve minimum of 20 years' imprisonment and considering that charge is yet to be framed, we are not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail, at this stage.

CRM (DB) 492 of 2025 is, thus, dismissed.
