Mr. Nilotpal Chatterjee, learned advocate appearing for the Indian Nursing Council in his usual fairness submits that this case is covered by the judgment and order passed in WPA 12092 of 2023 (Asmita Bhakta -vs.- The State of West Bengal). The relevant part of the said judgment is quoted below:- "I am of the view that the registration of the petitioner under the West Bengal Nursing Council cannot be denied. The clarification contained in the aforementioned letter dated May 15, 2023 makes it clear that there is no practical distinction between "Home Science"

course and "Healthcare Science" course

offered by the West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development.

I am of the view when the West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development being the competent authority itself clarified that the petitioner is eligible for registration for G.N.M. Course, Nursing Council should grant requisition to the petitioner."

The petitioner appears to be similarly circumstanced.

Accordingly, this writ petition is allowed with a direction upon the West Bengal Nursing Council to grant registration to the petitioner within one week from the date of communication of this order. Accordingly, WPA 2690 of 2024 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
