The petitioner being a bona fide student of Udaypur Haradayal Nag Adarsha Vidyalaya, Nimta, District - 24 Parganas (North) would be appearing in the ensuing Madhyamik Pariksha 2025 scheduled to be held on and from February 10, 2025. The grievance of the petitioner is that though he was duly registered with the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education but till date the admit card for the said examination has not been issued to him. The petitioner is praying issuance of the said Admit Card.
Mr. Subhrajyoti Ghosh, learned advocate for the school authority submits that due to mistake on the part of the school in uploading the particulars of the petitioner in the portal designated for the enrollment of the students of Madhyamik Pariksha, 2025 admit card has been issued to another student of the name sake to the petitioner though he is not eligible to take up the said examination as he has failed in the test. He further submits that the admit card so issued has not been handed over to the said student.
Ms. Koyeli Bhattacharyya, learned advocate for the Board submits that the school in spite of having the opportunity did not rectify the said error.
Heard learned advocate for the parties and perused the materials on record. The Board has issued the admit card to Sri.
Subham Mondal, a student of the school who had failed to qualify the test for the Madhyamik Pariksha, 2025 as the school mistakenly uploaded his particulars in the portal designated for the enrollment of the students of the said Pariksha instead of the particulars of Sri. Shubham Mondal, the petitioner herein. The petitioner for no fault of his own unnecessarily is facing the anxiety as the examination is approaching. The Board to overcome such situation has decided to reopen the designated online portal for the period from 6 P.M. today (i.e. February 06, 2025) till 2 P.M. tomorrow (i.e. February 07, 2025), enabling the schools to upload the particulars of the left out bona fide students for enrollment and for the purpose of submission of the hard copy of the enrollment applications, shall keep its main office open on Saturday(February 08, 2025) and on Sunday (February 09, 2025) from 11:00 a.m. till 2.00 p.m.
The school now shall take appropriate steps for enrollment of the petitioner with the Board and shall get the signature of the petitioner in the hard copy of the enrollment application to be submitted along with all relevant documents with the Deputy Secretary(Examination) of the Board on the aforementioned date and time and upon payment of the enrollment fees, stationary fees and late processing fees, the Board shall enroll the petitioner for the Madhyamik Pariksha, 2025 and shall issue the admit card. The school shall arrange for handing over the said Admit Card to the petitioner at his residence on 9th itself. The school shall take steps for cancellation of the enrollment of the said unsuccessful student of the school and shall hand over the Admit Card already issued to the said student to the Board. W.P.A. 2832 of 2025 is thus disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.
