Heard learned counsels for the parties.

It is contended on behalf of the petitioner that despite possessing valid documents and paying taxes up to date, the vehicle in question registered in her name was seized by the respondent authorities on 21st October, 2022. The authority has issued a demand notice upon the petitioner claiming an amount of Rs.1,92,568/- without disclosing how the amount was arrived at/assessed. The petitioner submitted a representation before the concerned authority through her learned advocate on 15th November, 2022, which is yet to be considered. The petitioner prays for a direction upon the concerned authority to consider the representation at the earliest.

It is submitted on behalf of the State respondents that the 3rd respondent be directed to consider the representation in accordance with law.

In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of directing the 3rd respondent to consider and dispose of the representation submitted on behalf of the petitioner dated 15th November, 2022 within two weeks from the date of communication of this order upon affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to all the interested persons including the petitioner/her authorised representative, in accordance with law.

In dealing with the representation, the concerned authority shall cause verification of all the documents produced by the petitioner/her authorised representative and pass a reasoned order within the stipulated time frame.

With the above observations and directions this writ petition being WPA 2704 of 2023 is disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the petition are deemed not to be admitted. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
