Petitioner seeks anticipatory bail.

Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was not named in the First Information Report.

Learned Advocate appearing for the State draws the attention of the Court to the statement of the victim recorded under Section 161 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. She submits that the victim named the petitioner as one of the persons engaged in the incident. The victim suffered injuries. She highlights the fact that the police case is of 2019. The petitioner is absconding since then.

Considering the long absconsion of the petitioner and considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected.

C.R.M. (A) 781 of 2022 is dismissed.
