This is an application wherein petitioner has prayed for expeditious disposal of the interim maintenance application and also the main application for maintenance, both of which were filed on 8th April, 2021.

The prayer made by the petitioner is innocuous and, therefore, it is required to be allowed for the ends of justice. Having heard learned Counsel for the petitioner and also considering the long pendency of the application which causes serious prejudice to the claimant, the instant application being CRR 577 of 2026 is hereby disposed of with a direction upon the Court below to make every endeavour for expeditious disposal of the interim maintenance application preferably within a period of 2 months from the next date of hearing, without granting any unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties.

This order is passed invoking this Court's jurisdiction under Section 529 of the BNSS.
