Report filed by the respondents in Court be taken on record. It appears therefrom that the authority rejected the prayer of the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment by passing a reasoned order dated April 16, 2026.

The reasoned order is annexed to the report. Though the prayer of the petitioner has been rejected, the General Manager, Kajora Area, ECL has been directed to process and extend the Monthly Monetary Cash Compensation (MMCC) benefits admissible under NCWA to the widow of the employee being the lawful direct dependent. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits, upon instructions, that the petitioner does not intend to challenge the impugned order of rejection, but prays for a direction upon the authority to take steps in terms of the conclusion arrived at by the authority at the time of rejecting the prayer for

compassionate appointment of the petitioner.

In view of the above, the instant writ petition stands disposed of by directing the fifth respondent - the General Manager, Eastern Coalfield Limited, Kajora Area - to process and extend MMCC benefits admissible under NCWA to the widow of the employee at the earliest without any further delay.

The authority shall ensure that the benefits, as admissible, are released positively within four months from the date of communication of this order, subject to compliance of all necessary formalities.

All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Certified copy of this order, if applied for, shall be made available to the parties.
