Learned Senior advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for about two years and till date trial has not been concluded, as such, he prays that the petitioner may be released on bail.

Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the trial is at the advanced stage and, in all probability, the evidence of the investigating officer will commence from the next date fixed. Having considered the same, at this stage, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail.

Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

The learned trial court would ensure that the verdict of this case is pronounced by 30th June, 2026. The petitioner would be at liberty to pray for bail after the aforesaid period is over.

Accordingly, CRM (M) 391 of 2026 is dismissed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of.
