1. Petitioner is in custody for about two years. He prays for bail.

2. Learned lawyer for the State submits six witnesses have already been examined.

3. We have considered the materials on record. Allegations involve penetrative sexual assault on a minor. Offence if proved would attract 20 years' rigorous imprisonment. Trial has considerably progressed.

4. Under such circumstances we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

5. Accordingly, prayer for bail is rejected.

6. Trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date.
