The petitioner is a regular student of Sir Gurudas Mahavidyalaya, Kolkata, a college under the University of Calcutta.
The petitioner is supposed to take up the B.A. Semester V Hons. supplementary paper DSE B-1 (ENGA) scheduled to be held tomorrow, i.e. on February 06, 2024, but she has not yet received the admit card.
Mr. Talukdar, learned advocate for the college authority submits that due to mistake of the college to send the form of the petitioner, the University has failed to send her admit card to the College.
He, upon instruction submits that the college has deputed Mr. Saikat Majumdar, a Clerk of the college to meet the Controller of Examination of the University with all relevant papers to get the admit card of the petitioner. The said clerk shall meet the Controller of Examination of the University by 04.30 PM today with all relevant papers necessary to take delivery of the admit card of the petitioner and after collecting the same, shall hand it over to the petitioner at her residence by 7.30 PM today.
The harassment faced by the petitioner for the fault of the college authority is required to be compensated, which is assessed at Rs. 10,000/-(Ten thousand Rupees only). The costs shall be paid to the bank account of the petitioner within two days from date, details of the said bank account be supplied by the junior of Mr. Sanyal to Mr. Talukdar in course of this day.
W.P.A. 2773 of 2024 is disposed of with the above terms.
The parties are at liberty to communicate the gist of the order, the authorities are directed to act on such communication.
