Mr. Ritwik Pattanayak ..... for the petitioner Mr. Amal Kr. Sen Mr. K. P. Mukhopadhyya ... for the State Upon hearing learned counsel appearing for the petitioner Bank and the State respondent, it appears that the compliance of Sections 50 and 51 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 may not have been completed by the writ petitioner. The writ petitioner is the transferee under Section 50 of the Act and is required to deposit certain documents with the registering Authority for registration of the vehicle in favour of the purchaser.

The petitioner therefore given a week to comply with the relevant provisions of the Act and made an application before the registering Authority namely the Additional Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Contai, Purba Medinipur within a week from date as prayed for. The said authority shall dispose of the application

in accordance with law within four weeks from date on which such application is made by the petitioner. It is made clear that the registering Authority shall have liberty of undertaking all steps including the service of notice to the registered owner of the vehicle as specified under the Act.

WPA 2700 of 2022 is disposed of in terms of the above.
