Mr. Jahar Datta Mr. Jaladhi Das ....for the State The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the refusal of the respondent/CESC Limited to provide a new electricity connection at the premises of the petitioner. The CESC Limited is represented and submits that they are ready and willing to provide a new electricity connection but the personnel of the CESC Limited were resisted when they had gone to carry out an inspection by the private respondents.

In view of the submission made on behalf of the parties, the Officer-in-Charge, Garden Reach Police Station, being the respondent no. 4, is directed to provide adequate police assistance to the respondent/CESC Limited to carry out the aforesaid inspection at the subject premises. The costs of such police assistance would be borne by the petitioner.

The petitioner is directed to comply with all formalities including making of payment of necessary costs for such inspection.

It is expected that the entire exercise would be completed within a period of six weeks from the date of this order.

With the aforesaid directions, WPA No. 3362 of 2021 stands disposed off.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. (Ravi Krishan Kapur,J)
