The supplementary affidavit filed by the petitioner after serving the copy to the learned counsel for the respondent/State be kept with the record.

The petitioner has filed the present writ application on the allegation that on January 30, 2026, the petitioner has made an application to the Special Public Information Officer, ULC Office of the competent authority requesting for providing certain information under the Right to Information Act but the information as requested by the petitioner was not provided to the petitioner till date. 3.

The petitioner has filed supplementary affidavit by disclosing two documents i.e., a communication dated February 26, 2026 wherein the SPIO and the Deputy Director and ULC Alipore have transferred the RTI application under Section 6(3) of the Right to Information Act, 2005 filed by the petitioner to the SPIO and competent authority, Kolkata. The petitioner has disclosed another document which is appearing at Page No. 15 of the supplementary affidavit dated February 18, 2026 wherein

the SPIO has informed one Sayantan Kar with regard to the information of one RTI application.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondent authorities in his usual fairness has admitted that the documents appearing at Page No. 15 in the supplementary affidavit dated February 18, 2026 is not the answer to the application filed by the petitioner under RTI Act dated January 30, 2026 and he submits that if a direction is passed upon the concerned authority, the concerned authority will consider the application filed by the petitioner and will pass appropriate order.

In view of the above, the writ application is disposed of by directing the SPIO and competent authority, Kolkata to consider and pass appropriate order by providing the information to the petitioner with respect of the application dated January 30, 2026 forwarded by the SPIO and competent authority, Kolkata dated February 26, 2026 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of this order.

WPA 2886 of 2026 is disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all the necessary formalities.
