Petitioner is in custody for more than 7 months and prays for bail on the ground that investigation is complete and charge sheet has been submitted. The alleged fake currency has been seized.

Learned counsel for the State refers to the Case Diary and opposes the prayer for bail.

It appears that the counterfeit fake currency notes to the tune of Rs.1,50,000/- has been recovered from the petitioner. Charge sheet has been submitted. Charges are yet to be framed.

Upon consideration of the material on record as well as the fact that investigation is complete, this Court is of the view that further detention of the petitioner is not required and he may be granted bail subject to stringent conditions.

Accordingly the petitioner be released on bail upon furnishing bond of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only), with two sureties of like amount each, one of whom must be local, to the satisfaction of the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Malda subject to condition that he shall not leave the jurisdiction of Kaliachak Police Station until further orders and shall appear before the trial court on every date of hearing until further orders and shall not intimidate witnesses or tamper with evidence in any manner whatsoever.

In the event the petitioner fails to appear before the trial court without any justifiable cause, the trial court shall be at liberty to cancel his bail in accordance with law without further reference to this Court.

The application for bail, being CRM (DB) 506 of 2025, is, thus, disposed of.

Case Diary be returned.
