Mr. Sanjib Kumar Dan, learned Advocate for the respondent no.6 submits that his client is not interested to remain as a party respondent in the proceeding;

he prays that the name of the respondent no.6 be expunged from the cause title of the writ petition.

In view of such stand of the said respondent, the name of the respondent no.6 be expunged from the cause title of the writ petition.

Department is directed to carry out necessary amendment in the cause-title.

The matter though has been listed for hearing of a connected application but, by the consent of the parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

The Principal of Kalna College, the respondent no.5 herein by an advertisement dated March 21, had invited applications from eligible candidates to fill up 16 posts of non-teaching staffs of the college.

The petitioners, in response to the said advertisement had applied and were empanelled in the selection Process. The panel of successful candidates was sent to the Director of Public Instruction, Higher Education Directorate, Government of West Bengal, the respondent no.2 herein for approval but the same is still pending. The petitioners have given a representation to the respondent no.2 praying approval of such panel, the said representation dated December 28, 2023 is appearing at page '76' of the writ petition. The petitioners are praying disposal of the said representation.

The respondent no.2 is directed to consider and dispose of the said representation as expeditiously as possible in accordance with law, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners and/or their representatives, the college authority and all other concerned, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order.

WPA 2839 of 2024 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.

In view of the disposal of the writ petition, the connected application being CAN 2 of 2025 is also disposed of accordingly without any order as to costs.

Urgent Photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
