Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner prays for electricity connection from CESC Limited, being the respondent No.1 in the instant petition.

Learned counsel appearing for the CESC Limited files a report. The report says as follows :

"1. During inspection Mr. Reaz Uddin, representative of the petitioner was present. We were provided free access to the existing meter room. During inspection, we found one disconnected meter no.6127896, consumer no.75241041362 which was in the name of Mr. Imran Khan. Premises has G+3 storied under construction building. 4th floor is under construction. Though at the time of inspection, we did not find any type of construction work.

2. A new meter can be provided at the existing service/meter room. Petitioner has to pay necessary charges and comply the formalities for getting supply. Though private respondent Cosminar Promoters Private Limited has strong objection

against providing supply at 44, Jagatipota, Kolkata - 700 099.

3. A civil suit is pending between the private respondent and the petitioner. On 26.09.2024 Ld. 1st Civil Judge (Senior Division) at Baruipur passed an ad interim order of injunction in TS No.455/2025 - Cosminar Promoters Private Limited versus Huzefa Mohammedali alias Huzefa Mohamedi Khasamwala. The said interim order is extended till 26.03.2025."

Heard learned counsels for the parties and perused the report as well as the petition.

From the report it is clear that the CESC Limited is ready and willing to provide a new meter at the existing service/meter room.

Accordingly, CESC Limited is directed to provide a new meter to the petitioner upon compliance with all necessary formalities within a period of one month from date. If any obstruction is caused by the private respondents, CESC Limited may seek police assistance from the local police station, with the cost to be borne by the petitioner.

The writ petition being WPA 2993 of 2025 is disposed of.
